What is ForestTECH 2010?
ForestTECH 2010 on the outstanding success of the 2009 technology series that ran in both New Zealand and Australia in November last year. The independent programmes were designed with a wide cross section of forestry owners, managers and technical staff. They provided an essential overview of new tools and technologies that would assist forest managers to make key operational, planning and strategic decisions.
Over 300 technical staff attended the inaugural events, ForestTECH 2007 and ForestTECH 2008. Over 200 forestry managers, forest owners, technical foresters, forestry consultants, plantation forestry researchers and key suppliers to Australian and New Zealand forestry companies attended the New Zealand and Australian ForestTECH 2009 events (see the 2009 Post Event Details tab).
ForestTECH 2009 covered the core themes of; • Forest Sampling & Inventory • Data Collection Tools • Forest Mapping • Remote Sensing Technologies • Forest Management Information Systems and Estate Planning and • Assessment of Wood & Stand Quality.
ForestTECH 2010 provides a long overdue technology update on the other critical areas of forest management. Like 2009, ForestTECH 2010 includes an integrated series of practical workshops, managed exhibitions and demonstrations that have been designed with input from a wide cross section of industry on both sides of the Tasman.
